Directors and Management

Gordon Dickie has over 35 years of commercial, financial and transactional experience in project finance and engineering, working with financial organisations and national governments. Previously a senior sales executive with British Leyland, Middle East operations and seconded to the UK Defense Sales Organisation. Mr. Dickie was a director of a public mining company with developments in Africa and a director of a Chinese coal company. Developed and arranged funding for large infrastructure projects including construction of airports and industrial plants in CIS, the Far East and South East Asia. Mr. Dickie holds a diploma in mechanical engineering.



Elena Baranova is a dual qualified lawyer, Solicitor of England and Wales. Ms. Baranova worked for leading law firms in London and Jersey on a wide range of corporate transactional matters, advising private and public companies in emerging markets. Ms Baranova advised on high profile transactions involving public company equity issues, corporate restructuring and acting for clients in Russia, Mongolia, CIS and other emerging markets, natural resources, energy sectors listed on the London Stock Exchange, AIM and other exchanges. Ms Baranova holds a Graduate Diploma in Law and LPC degree (with Distinctions) from London College of Law and is a Member of the Law Society of England and Wales.



David Gardener is a mechanical engineer with over 40 years experience in electricity generation, with experience which spans a large number of Independent Power Producer (IPP) developments, Mr. Gardener worked for ten years in Australia in power station operation and management in lignite and gas-fired power stations. On returning to Europe, Mr. Gardener was the CEO for an 800 MW IPP development in the southern Netherlands. For the past 15 years, Mr. Gardener worked on developments of the power projects in Ukraine, Mongolia, Pakistan, Iraq, Jordan, Indian Ocean islands, Ghana and Nigeria.



Gerhard Visagie is a "Big Four" trained Chartered Accountant with over 22 years commercial and practice experience in the UK and South Africa including due diligence, group reporting, cost reduction, business development and business turnaround for a wide range of industries in International Markets. Mr. Visagie is responsible for IM Power Plc's financial management matters including, corporation tax, cost assessments, financial reporting, strategic planning and refining the strategy for growth . Mr. Visagie is a Prince II qualified project manager, is a member of the ICAEW and SAICA and holds an Honours degree in Accountancy.



Alfred Thomas is a mechanical engineer, with 25 years experience in the detailed design of power station boilers, mainly for coal and lignite firing, with a major international manufacturer. In more recent years Alfred has worked on the assessment of combustion and other plant efficiency issues for a wide range of IPP projects.


Basil England is a power engineer with 30 year experience in power station construction and development in the UK, USA and Far East. Mr Basil worked for International Power plc, Hopewell Holdings Ltd and Southern Energy Inc. Extensive experience of gas, oil and coal fired plant from inception to commissioning. Mr. England is currently working on the development of power projects and is based in Bangladesh.
