IM Power Meets BBCCI to Discuss Bangladesh Infrastructure Developments

A delegation from the British Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BBCCI) paid a courtesy call on the Honorable Minister of Communications of the Government of Bangladesh, Sheikh Rabiul Alam, who is visiting London, at a hotel in West London yesterday afternoon.
The BBCCI delegation was led by the newly elected Director General of the Chamber, Musleh Ahmed. He was accompanied by members of the newly elected Executive Committee and senior directors of the Chamber. Among others present at the event were former BBCCI Presidents Matab Chowdhury and Saidur Rahman Renu, Directors Shafiqul Islam and Golam Kibria Wes, and Mr. Gordon Dickie, Chairman of IM Power PLC, a British company that is a potential investor in the railway sector in Bangladesh.
The courtesy call created an important opportunity to further strengthen mutual cooperation between the Government of Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi business community in the UK. The meeting had fruitful discussions on various issues related to bilateral trade, investment, communication, connectivity and overall economic cooperation between Bangladesh and the UK.
During the discussions, the BBCCI delegation reiterated the Chamber’s continued commitment to sustainable economic development in Bangladesh. At the same time, special emphasis was placed on further strengthening trade and investment relations between the UK and Bangladesh, attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), developing transport and communication infrastructure, expanding digital connectivity and increasing the involvement of the UK-based Bangladeshi business community.
The delegation highlighted the significant contribution of British Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to the economies of both countries and expressed its interest in working closely with the Ministry of Communications and other relevant government agencies to increase investment, expand business cooperation and promote sustainable economic development.
The Honarable Minister of Communications welcomed the delegation and appreciated the long-standing contribution of BBCCI in promoting trade and investment between the UK and Bangladesh. He expressed gratitude for the continued support of the Bangladeshi business community in the UK and reiterated the government's commitment to infrastructure development, modernization of communication systems and creation of an investment-friendly environment.
After the meeting, BBCCI Director General Musleh Ahmed said, "The British Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry has always been an effective bridge between the UK and Bangladesh. We express our sincere gratitude to the Honorable Minister for his sincere time and constructive exchange of views. We look forward to working closely with the Government of Bangladesh to open new horizons of trade, investment, innovation and business cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries."
